Nature
which he personally considers . . "Not
an adversary to conquer and destroy, but a storehouse of infinite knowledge
. . . linking man to all things past and present."

Mammoth
Cave National Park - The discovery of an opening into one of the world's
largest caves was made by prehistoric Indians perhaps as long ago as 4,000
years. Imagination must have played a great role as, equipped with torches,
they peered cautiously into the great rooms and passageways. Seeing the
many beatiful stalagmite and stalactite formations, finding a river that
ran underground, and even discovering a small lake must have seemed mysterious
to them.
